RIBBON CUTTING IN JEMEZ PUEBLO

September 1, 2023

It was a joy to attend the ribbon cutting for the Walatowa Early Childhood Learning Center. We hope that the people of Jemez Pueblo will find this charming little building to be a welcome addition to their community, and that it will serve them faithfully in their efforts to convey their cultural heritage to future generations through language immersion education. We would like to extend our gratitude to the many distinguished guests who shared thoughtful and inspiring words at the ceremony, including Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, State Senator Benny Shendo, and State Representative Derrick Lente. This project reflects the vision of the Jemez Pueblo Education Department led by Kevin Shendo, Lana Garcia, and Dr. Mack. It was a labor of love for all involved and could not have been accomplished without the tireless work of General Contractor PACE Pacific, Construction Manager Buffalo Design, the Pueblo’s Project Manager Sheri Bozic, and countless others who contributed.

KEWA CHILDCARE CENTER BREAKS GROUND

May 23, 2023

ROMA is grateful for the opportunity to have attended Friday's groundbreaking for the future Kewa Childcare and Family Engagement Center. After all the time and energy we invest in design, it is refreshing and inspiring to hear firsthand just how important projects like this are to the communities who have dreamed of and fought for them. Kudos to General Contractor Brycon Corp. for making these cool shovels as an homage to the building’s brise-soleil façade, which was inspired by the traditional Heishi beadwork of Kewa Pueblo.

ARROYO DEL OSO BREAKS GROUND

March 14, 2023

Curious students at Arroyo Del Oso Elementary kept our team on their toes with some great questions about their future school during this morning's groundbreaking. It was fantastic to see their enthusiasm and to meet some of the people from APS and Thompson Construction Inc. who are working hard to bring this important project to fruition. This moment was especially meaningful for us as this school was only recently green-lighted for construction after having spent years on hold for funding. It is such a relief to know that our work will ultimately be of service and that this community will finally receive the much needed and deserved support their new facility will provide.

JON ANDERSON ARCHITECTURE IS NOW ROMA ARCHITECTURE!

January 4, 2023

BIG NEWS! - We've Changed our Name.

As we embark on the next steps in our journey and continue to grow our brand, we are pleased to share this change with you - our clients, colleagues, consulting partners, and friends. And not to worry, all of our business and tax information remain the same with no effects on existing contracts.

Changing our name was not undertaken lightly, and we are proud of our history. With careful consideration, choosing ROMA Architecture as our new name was purposeful. The new moniker is a way to honor the legacy of the firm founded by renowned Architect Jon Anderson on Roma Avenue over 30 years ago and better reflect our collaborative ethos. Not to mention, Rome (Roma in Italian) is the birthplace of some of the greatest architecture in the world.

These last couple of years were incredible for Jon Anderson Architecture. It was time to really focus our efforts & the first step was a major rebrand. We're the same people, same company - just with a new name and look. If you'd like to see more of our new look and feel, you can click here.
